They put a whole lot of love in the little black pot...
And Daniel is very thankful!
This one was an amalgamation of recipes. I started by sauteing some onions and celery in oil. I added about 3 cups of homemade chicken broth and then threw in a pound-and-a-half of broccoli florets. I chose to puree it after the broccoli was tender, but you can choose to keep the broccoli whole if you wish.In a small saucepan, melt 3 tablespoons of water and throw in 3 tablespoons of flour. Slowly stir in a cup of half-and-half and a cup of milk. You could also just do 2 cups of milk. After it's thickened, add to the soup. Stir until thick and warm. Add salt and pepper.
Serve with some grated cheese. Yum!
See our other soup posts here. Coming up next: Minestrone!
